Getting Started6 min read

Quick Start

Get outbound running and your first content piece live in about ten minutes.

Before you start: you need a sending inbox for outbound email, and a persona for anything Ozigi writes. Everything else can wait. If you only care about publishing content, skip steps 2 and 4 entirely — the Content Engine works without any outbound setup.

The ten-minute path

There are two things worth having running on day one: an outbound campaign that is sourcing and qualifying leads, and one piece of content published in your voice. This walks through both.

StepWhat you doRoughly
1Create your account30 sec
2Connect a sending inbox3 min
3Write a persona4 min
4Launch an outbound campaign3 min
5Generate your first posts1 min

1. Create your account

Sign up with your email. You get a full-access trial with no credit card required.

You land on the dashboard, which is split down the middle: content tools on one side, outbound on the other. Both are usable immediately, but outbound will refuse to send anything until step 2 is done.

2. Connect a sending inbox

Outbound email sends from your inbox, not from Ozigi's servers. That is what keeps replies landing in your mailbox and your domain reputation under your own control.

Go to Outreach Settings and connect either:

  • Gmail — using a 16-character App Password, not your account password. Google requires 2-Step Verification to be on before it will issue one.
  • Any SMTP provider — Outlook, Yahoo, Zoho Mail, Fastmail, SendGrid, or a custom host.

Ozigi tests the connection before saving it, so a green result means mail will actually send.

Do this before creating a campaign. A campaign with no connected inbox will source and score leads happily, then fail at the send step.

3. Write a persona

This is the step people skip and then complain about the output.

A persona is a voice profile: who is writing, how they sound, and what they would never say. It is applied to outbound emails, social posts, newsletters, and long-form articles alike. One definition, used everywhere.

The difference between a vague persona and a specific one is the difference between generic AI copy and something that sounds like you:

Code Snippet
Weak: "Helpful assistant. Write engaging posts about our product."
Strong: "Pragmatic technical founder. Direct, occasionally dry.
Never says 'leverage' or 'ecosystem'. Always opens with a
specific number or a failure that actually happened."

Go to Personas and write one for yourself. Or start from the Persona Marketplace and edit a pre-built profile until it sounds right.

4. Launch an outbound campaign

Go to Email Outreach → New Campaign.

  1. Paste your product URL. Ozigi reads the page and pre-fills your sender details, product description, and a first draft of your ICP.
  2. Correct whatever it got wrong, then describe your target audience in plain English. Be specific — "backend engineers at Series A fintechs who have published about payment infrastructure" beats "developers".
  3. Set your sequence steps and the delay between each.
  4. Pick a persona for the writing voice.
  5. Set a daily send limit and create the campaign.

Then, from the campaign page, run these in order:

  • Run Scrape — sources leads matching your ICP and scores each one
  • Preview Emails — generates three sample emails so you can check the personalisation before anything sends
  • Run Send — sends the current step to everyone due, up to your daily cap

5. Generate your first posts

Go to Social Posts. Paste a URL, dump some rough notes, or upload a PDF. Pick your platforms and your persona, and generate.

You get drafts for LinkedIn, X, Discord, and Slack simultaneously, each written to that platform's shape rather than the same text reflowed four times.

Nothing publishes on its own. Every draft waits for you to review it.
